Switching to KLIX Eco Cup can lead to a reduction in environmental footprint of over 63%
Compared to a standard paper cup used in a vending machine that would end up in landfill, our tests show that switching to KLIX Eco Cup can lead to a reduction in environmental footprint of over 63%.
Furthermore, when compared to a mug with a kettle, the benefit is even more considerable with the potential reduction of the carbon footprint being over 68%.

Assessing the Product Life-Cycle
Our method of assessing the total environmental impact of a product during its entire life-cycle is transparent and independent.
In order to evaluate the quality of our breakthrough solution, we commissioned an independent Life-Cycle Assessment by consultancy WSP.
The assessment compared our new KLIX Eco Cup with the most widely available options (mugs, standard paper cups and our current PS cup) in the most likely scenario, where those cups – although technically recyclable – end up in landfill or waste to energy processes due to limited access to the appropriate recycling facilities or the value of the material in its second life being so low.
Indeed, if we consider, for example, the standard paper cups which are PE lined, the number of facilities across EU that can effectively process them by mechanically separating the paper from the plastic lining are very low, so that process of recycling is usually not the preferred option.
